Paul Bunyan, unapologetic destroyer of the natural environment

Minnesota was the home of Paul Bunyan, the giant folkloric lumberjack who owned an equally large blue ox as a pet.  I came across this rendering in Bemidji, MN.  (Rodin?)

Wooden bears of Wisconsin

I was driving across the northern tip of Wisconsin and I came across a guy (not pictured) who makes animal sculptures out of wood.  I was impressed.  I told him I thought he was a good artist and he seemed shy.

Niagara Falls

My dad met me in Detroit.  We drove across the southern part of Ontario and arrived in Niagara Falls in the evening.  I took these pictures as night fell.

I took these pics the next day.  The first and second were taken from the tower on the Ontario side.  Three out of the four are stitch-jobs.
